A Meetup for Front_End Professionals
Fore_Front is a speaker series for Front End Developers. We’re building a community of front end development professionals to share experiences, further our collective knowledge, explore the latest tech & tools, and discuss opportunities in Washington DC (and beyond).
FEBRUARY 21, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ ISL (iStrategyLabs)
On February 21st, the stars will align, the DOM will load, and we'll do something more miraculous than finding the universal solution to vertical alignment: Fore_Front::after .dark
We're hosting our first ever evening event, kicking off at 6pm at ISL. And a new time means new speakers and a new format. Yep, we're parallel tracking.
For the Fore_Fronters that love getting in the weeds, we've got POLITICO front-ender Jack Koppa talking shared component libraries. At the same time, we've got Beka Wueste, VP of Digital Strategy at political advocacy firm GMMB, coming to talk empathy in design.
We'll serve pizza and drinks (both alcoholic and non), and give you ample time to mingle, discuss, and connect with other DC area front-end fanatics.

What is Fore_Front?
Fore_Front is an event series for DC’s Front End Developer community. Hear how the best developers are unleashing the power of new web technologies, tools, and best practices to push the boundaries of our practice. Come for the code, stay for the community.
In Fore_Front's kickoff event, we heard from a panel of industry experts on web accessibility best practices, the role of design and development, cultural transformations and impacts on accessibility, and much more!
In Fore_Front’s second event, featured speaker Eli Fitch showed us how to leverage perceived performance – that is, how the user thinks the site is performing – to make better web experiences. Using the backdrop of human psychology and innate perceptions of time, Eli unveiled tips and tricks to manage perceived loading time (and more). We also featured four lightning talks from devs in the community on some exciting topics.
